Elodie Habert, Founder and CEO
Bonjour!
My name is Elodie Habert, and I am the founder and CEO of Cocorico.
I grew up in Toulouse, France, where some of my favorite memories were made around the table with family and friends. Cooking alongside my mother, discovering seasonal ingredients, and sharing homemade meals taught me that food has a unique way of bringing people together.
That belief continues to inspire everything we do at Cocorico. To me, sharing a meal is about more than eating. It's about slowing down, connecting with others, and creating memories.
Meet the Founder
Originally from Toulouse, France, I moved to Nashville in 2016 through my husband's work. After two wonderful years discovering American culture and falling in love with this city, we decided to make Nashville our home.
In 2018, I launched Cocorico with one dream: to bring an authentic taste of France to the community that had welcomed us so warmly.
One of my favorite parts of owning the bakery is getting to hear your stories. Whether you're reminiscing about a trip to France, telling me about your high school French class, or introducing your children to their very first croissant, those conversations remind me why I wake up early every morning to bake.
How Cocorico Began
Cocorico started in May 2018 at local farmers markets with a simple mission: to bring authentic French baking to Nashville.
What began as a small weekend business quickly became something much bigger thanks to the incredible support of our community. For nearly six years, we baked before sunrise, spent weekends at farmers markets across the city, and had the privilege of meeting thousands of customers who encouraged us every step of the way.
Those years shaped who we are today. They taught us the importance of quality, consistency, and building genuine relationships with our customers.

Our Philosophy
Everything we make is prepared from scratch every day using authentic French recipes, traditional techniques, and carefully selected ingredients.
Our menu celebrates the classics we grew up with in France, from flaky croissants and fresh baguettes to quiche, desserts, and seasonal specialties. We believe great food takes time, and we are committed to making each product with the same care and attention we would for our own family.
Our hope is that every visit to Cocorico feels like stepping into a neighborhood bakery in France, where great food, genuine hospitality, and community come together.
Our Bakery & Café
In January 2024, we proudly opened the doors to our first brick-and-mortar bakery and café in Nashville's Music Row neighborhood.
Today, we serve breakfast, lunch, coffee, pastries, and catering from our cozy French corner. Whether you're stopping by for a flaky croissant, a fresh baguette sandwich, a homemade quiche, or a cup of locally roasted coffee, we're grateful to be part of your day.
You'll also continue to find us at several local farmers markets, staying connected to the community that helped make Cocorico possible.
Fun Fact!
The rooster is one of the symbols of France, and "Cocorico!" is the French word for the sound it makes. That's where our name comes from, and it's a daily reminder of our French roots and the traditions we're proud to share with Nashville.
